2D Wool Painting Kits #6

Image
Hello Needle Felter Explorers,  There is so much you can do with needle felting: animal sculptures, head plaques, wreaths, magnets, keychain, ornaments, jewelry, wool paintings and more. You can paint with wool? YES.  An easy way to start is to buy a pre-made kit. Best kits to buy are from individual private companies (see below) not Amazon, Temu, or Hobby Lobby (quality of materials are not as good, and instructions are usually limited).  This fuzzy bunny 🐰 🐇  is from a kit by Living Felt (Texas based company). Kits made by individual small companies (USA based ones are:  Liongate Farms, Noom Old Schoolhouse, Living Felt  & Sarafina  just to name a few) are the best. Better quality wools, fabrics, needles, instructions, and accessories. More expensive (but worth it). Other accessories needed to make this 2D bunny was a hoop, the Living Felt fur comb (pictured below) and an iron-on Transfer Pen (comes in several colors, I have the black)....

Making a Unicorn Head Wall Plaque #5

Image
Hello Needle Felter Explorers,   This weeks needle felted (NF) project deals with a step by step look at how I made a multi-colored unicorn 🦄 head for one of my great nieces, Lilah.  STICK TO THE PROCESS ,  even when it looks like something else at first. Keep going. In these above photos I knotted a piece of core wool into a small ball and NF. Add more core wool to make a larger ball and continue needle felting. Take a 12" core slithers, knot it and NF to make an oblong piece. Attach the oblong piece to the lower portion of the ball. The 2 pieces are together.  Take a 6" piece of wool and NF over the gap between the ball and oblong piece. The head shaped piece (ovalish). 8. The above photos here start with the head shaped piece. I used a single 36 gauge needle & a 7 multi-tool needle holder with 40 gauge (finer needles) to shape the head. 9. I added 7mm black glass eyes using an awl. GLUED them in. Than I took thin slithers that I first rolled in my ...

Love, ❤️'s, and More #4

Image
Hello Needle Felter Explorers,  Here is a little bit about me. My heart ❤️ is for the Lord who saved me in 1981 (45 years ago) at the age of 20. For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have eternal life. John 3:16   Jesus came to save the lost (for all have sinned)  The greatest Love is represented here: Jesus is no longer on the cross, He is alive.  These felts are easy to make with a cookie cutter heart ❤️ & a cookie cutter cross. Keep layering in wisps of wool into the heart-shaped cookie cutter and needle felting until your desired thickness. Needle felt the sides by using finger guards or 2 pieces of cardboard.  Place the cookie cutter cross on top of your needle felted heart ❤️. Needle felt (wisps of contrasting color) directly into the heart. Turtledove   This white dove is two sided. It is made with two cookie cutter doves 🕊 felted together with extra wool in...
