Cherry Blossom Season #12

 Hello Needle Felter Explorers 


 Cherry 🍒 blossoms 🌸 are blooming in many area's, but Washington DC has their yearly festival scheduled from March 20th - April 12th, 2026. Peak blooming was expected March 29 - April 1st (70% of the trees blooming).


 Flowering tree's are used to represent God’s creation, hope, the fleeting / fading of life, and spiritual resilience, often associated with verses like Psalm 1:3


Cherry Tree Spring Wreath
 (One in the tree of life series I made)

In the tree of life series I also made a summer ☀️ and fall wreath which I will show you on a future blog.

 The cherry 🍒 blossoms were made with a mini  6 petal flower cookie cutter (37 of them).


Below is the photo of the Cherry Blossom 🌸 Tree I initially made with less flowers. In needle felting things can be changed (more added or items taken off).

I made the above tree in relation to the scripture:


 Psalm 1:3 
I am like a tree planted by rivers of living water. Which yields it's fruit in due season and it's leaf does not wither.

 
 Sturdy floral wires were twisted together and wrapped with wool roving for the trunk and branches of the tree 🌳. The illusion of cherry 🍒 blossoms was made by clusters of curly locks which I had dyed with Kool-aid "cherry" (YouTube for directions).



This Cherry 🍒 tree with a bluebird sitting in it's branches was inspired by a photo I liked (see the bottom left hand corner?)

I saw my 2nd bluebird today (April 6th, 2026) in WNC

  Hello Fellow Needle Felter Explorers,  What a glorious day is coming "Resurrection Sunday" (many know it as Easter). The Lamb of God, Jesus who was slain inorder for us to be reconciled to God. Thank you Jesus. 5" hoops  The above 2D hoop wool paintings were felted onto a piece of sheet felt (approx. 25 cents for a full sheet, some use  wool felt sheets which cost quite a bit more). Cut the felt background sheet larger than the hoop and lightly pencil the circle shape on it. Now take thin wisps of wool for your background (I used blue, but you could use sunset colors) and with your multi-tool stab in. Make the body by stabbing curly wool lamb locks in an oval shape. Next make the black lamb head & ears (NO eyes needed) on your mat separately. Felt the head into the body. Hopefully you remembered to leave enough room for words.  Hello Needle Felter Explorers,  Here is a little bit about me. My heart ❤️ is for the Lord who saved me in 1981 (45 years ago) at the age of 20. For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have eternal life. John 3:16   Jesus came to save the lost (for all have sinned)  The greatest Love is represented here: Jesus is no longer on the cross, He is alive.  These felts are easy to make with a cookie cutter heart ❤️ & a cookie cutter cross. Keep layering in wisps of wool into the heart-shaped cookie cutter and needle felting until your desired thickness. Needle felt the sides by using finger guards or 2 pieces of cardboard.  Place the cookie cutter cross on top of your needle felted heart ❤️. Crosses for Resurrection Day #11

  Hello Needle Felter Explorers,   SUNDAY'S a coming .   Today is just days away from Resurrection Sunday this year 2026, so we will be looking at needle felted crosses ✝️ onto various items. Cookie cutter crosses (the above photo) are very easy to make and to embellish with dyed curly locks which look like flowers once stabbed in. Jesus is called the "Rose 🌹 of Sharon" in the Bible, just one of His many names.  I love the royal purple robe draped across the cross ✝️ because Jesus is king of kings 🤴 ROYALTY 👑   Rose of Sharon (a name for Jesus Christ) & a cross ✝️ are shown on this one egg (front & back).  I believe these were made on egg 🥚 shaped polystyrene ovals or you can needle felt the egg shape on a wool oval you make. A Cross ✝️ on a heart ❤️  Reminds me of the greatest love ever shown.
